My Best 21 Waterfalls of 2021

As 2021 winds down id like to share some of my personal favourite Waterfalls of 2021, to be honest i did so much exploring this year I didn’t get to see near enough Waterfalls, 2022 vows to be more Waterfalls less exploring, without further ado let’s go backwards and count down my favourite waterfalls of 2021

(21) WILCOX FALLS (ICE FIELD

 PARKWAY)

This waterfall is so easy to find, and I was fortunate enough to see it in the spring while the run off was high.

(20) CAYUSE FALLS) Near Castlegar, British Columbia

I have been to this area many times, for some reason this waterfall has always eluded me until this year, to be honest it’s also very easy to find, its a local swimming hole for the children and teenagers in this area.

(19) UPPER PANTHER FALLS) Icefield Parkway

I have been to this location a million times, didn’t even know that Nigel Creek had an upper Panther Falls, haha then I did some research and figured out where this beauty was, it was super powerful because of the Run off, Very dangerous so please be careful if your visiting.

(18) BOUNDARY FALLS Boundary, British Columbia

Boundary Falls is a nice looking waterfall located behind a highway pullover near Boundary, BC, there are some sketchy cliffs here so be careful one slip could be fatal.

(17) CHERRY CREEK FALLS, North of Kimberley, BC

This waterfall is very unique, I’ve never encountered one like it, it flows over some type of shale rock or stone and provides a very picturesque waterfall, id love to see this during the Spring run off.

(16) LITTLE McPHEE FALLS, Castlegar, British Columbia

First time here and it’s on my list to see in 2022 in the Spring, this waterfall will be amazing at Run off and i cant wait to get back, as you can see it’s flow has little to be desired in late season.

(15) MOSQUITO CREEK FALLS, Icefield Parkway

This was my first time here it was on my 54th Birthday and it was awesome, the hike in is short and we had the place all to ourselves what a great birthday present this was.

(14) FLETCHER FALLS, Kaslo, British Columbia

I was here in the Spring of 2017, I only made it to the upper viewpoint and the overspray was so intense I couldn’t get proper pictures, this time I made it to the bottom in late season, and what a beautiful waterfall this is up close, definitely worthy of being on this list.

(13) TERSHISHNER FALLS, David Thompson Highway
This little Waterfall has been on my list for about 5 years, i either never had time to go find it or I was always confused about the trail, well I finally made it and this is an awesome 2 hr hike.

(12) GARDENER FALLS, Nakusp, British Columbia
My Girl Krista had seen this Waterfall a few years back with her family, when she mentioned it too me I just had to find it, it’s at a pullout over a bridge and you can basically walk right up to it, ran out of time, but you can hike up to the upper tier as well.

(11) IONE FALLS, Nakusp, British Columbia
This picturesque Waterfall is located right at a Pullout near Nakusp it’s a beautiful veil and if your in the area you should definitely find this Waterfall.

(10) ALLISON CREEK FALLS, Crowsnest Pass, Alberta
I picked a bad day to hike this waterfall, it was raining and the trail was muddy, so muddy in fact I decided to walk the entire creek back because I had better footing 🤣. This waterfall has many little tiers to it we had the whole place to ourselves.

(9) STAR CREEK FALLS, Crowsnest Pass, Alberta
I absolutely love this Waterfall, if you can’t find it use the All Trails App, it has one sketchy area that is difficult to get up otherwise you can walk right up to this gorgeous Waterfall.

(8) MEACHEN CREEK FALLS, British Columbia
What can I say about this waterfall, it’s a long Gravel road to get here, and the instructions I got were not accurate and we almost turned back, I have to thank my lovely Girlfriend because she convinced me to keep looking, Patience is a virtue.

(7) MOYIE FALLS, British Columbia
5 long years I have wanted to visit this amazing waterfall, sometimes when you do research you get Psyched out and don’t think you can get to a certain waterfall, at least that’s how iam haha, anyways All Trails app helped me find this and it was so worth it, might get fairly wet in the spring because you need to cross the River.

(6) BASE OF NIGEL FALLS, Icefield Parkway, Alberta
Well I have seen this waterfall 100 times from the overhead bridge above on highway 93, but in 2021 I finally hiked it to the base, its fairly easy hike until you get to the third bridge on the Old wonder trail, then you will need to bushwack your way up the creek until you get to a good viewpoint.

Here are my Top 5 Waterfalls of 2021

(5) FAN FALLS Maligne Canyon, Jasper, Alberta
I absolutely just love this waterfall, the only reason I could say anything negative would be the droves of Tourists on this trail, it’s hard to take videos because of the noise, that being said I got pretty lucky and it wasn’t all that busy in late season.

(4) JOSEPHINE FALLS, Elkford, British Columbia

So I was sort of here in 2017 i made the mistake of following  google maps directions here and it takes you to the opposite side of the river and you get see the falls at all, so this waterfall was pissing me off for 5 years haha, I did proper research this time and finally figured out where the trailhead was, I wouldn’t attempt to try and get down any closer then the fence views it’s a long ways down.

(3) PERRY CREEK FALLS , British Columbia
Absolutely love this place, another waterfall that had eluded me for 5 years until this year, the road in is pretty bumpy, but the hike is beautiful, it’s an old mining area.

(2) GLADE FALLS, near Castlegar, British Columbia

You need to take a ferry to visit these magnificent Waterfalls, i at first thought Glade falls was only one waterfall, we later found out there is 3 different waterfalls on this trail the pictures you see are from Lower and Middle Glade falls.

AND MY NUMBER ONE WATERFALL OF 2021 is…..
(1) WILSON CREEK FALLS, New Denver, B.C

What can I say about this stunning waterfall, it’s over 200 feet tall, and it’s extremely powerful, there is a path that you can take to get up close and personal with her and it’s well worth it, i imagine the overspray would be quite intense in the spring, so there you have it, my top 21 Waterfalls of 2021, can’t wait to show you my top 22 Waterfalls of 2022,

Thanks for looking In 🙏😀

  1. I've visited a lot of waterfalls but only a few of them are on this list. I'll return to your blog in the summer to map out some ideas for a vacation trip. Great photos.
